April 2014 - Chelsea Flower Show 2014 ?????
Customers are asking if we are going to Chelsea this year, as we really enjoyed it last year and were so proud of our certificate of commendation, for our garden.
I'm afraid we are not going this year, due to a beautiful new arrival in the family, who needs all our attention, however we wish all the exhibitors and gardeners a wonderful show and the best of luck and look forward to watching it all on television, we will miss the amazing experience.
November 2013 - SBS Event 2013 'A Chance to meet Theo Paphitis'
We were delighted to win SBS (Small Business Sunday) in
November 2012, and excited to attend the SBS winner's event this year at the
ICC in Birmingham.
The event was hosted by the main sponsors Ryman Stationary
owned by Theo Paphitis and it was a packed day of motivation and opportunities.
We began the day networking with a fabulous buffet, meeting lots of fellow SBS winners, a big shout out to the lovely @mrsLcards. We were then introduced to the new sponsors of SBS @DHL @ilaw @RAC Business @bartercard and then joined by the fantastic @TheoPaphitis, who talked through his own successes and took a full hour and a half of questions from SBS winners. Some great quotes from Theo:

ourselves energy and continue to focus if we stand still'

and wanted to do it myself'

We then had time to 'Ask the Experts' in the topics,
finance, marketing, buying, E-commerce and Logistics.
To finish the day we were able to have a lovely photograph
with the man himself, Theo Paphitis, proudly showing our certificate.
I would definitely recommend every small business to enter
each week, in the hope to becoming an SBS winner, it opens a huge network of
knowledge from other winners, and several opportunities for help and support
and Theo Paphitis's commitment to small businesses is unquestionable.

July 2013 - The Lady
It was great to receive an email from the lovely ladies from The Lady Magazine, asking if we would like to be included in the article '3 of the best', which features in the gardening section, it was titled 'Serious Stuff for Children', and we were happy to be placed at number 1.
May 2013 - Chelsea Centenary Flower Show 2013
We were over joyed to be awarded a certificate of commendation for our exhibition stand, a 1947 garden, complete with bomb damage wall, the year Chelsea returned after the war.
The show was amazing, and a huge success, we enjoyed every minute, even the day it rained, and were delighted to meet so many lovely people. Our Minibee was photographed as much as the show gardens and made people smile.

Clare Foster wrote an article 'Small Wonder' in the section, Outside Interests about The Bumble. "If you're short of space but still long for a greenhouse, The Bumble from Spade and Trowel may be the answer."
Plans are underway for our new greenhouse for weddings, watch this space!

It was lovely to hear from Francine Raymond to ask if we could be included in her article 'There's an art to gift giving' in the Sunday Telegraph Life. The Minibee featured under 'Presents for Budding Gardeners' and was chosen as one of the pictures for the article.

Cheshire Food Festival
We exhibited at The Cheshire Food Festival, as Spade and Trowels first outing, and despite the rain enjoyed the day, with lots of young gardeners planting a 35 day turnip ready for Christmas.
